Yukata in Japanese Cotton
The Yukata is a casual version of the kimono. Yukata literally means "bathing cloth" and it was originally intended to be just that. The traditional Yukata was usually made of printed cotton with an indigo and white pattern. Those we prefer, have bold, graphic patterns often using geometric or seasonal designs. Yukata was worn after bathing in a communal bath, functioning as a quick way to cover the body and to absorb remaining moisture. Wear yours however you like!
Vintage Kimono Collection
All the verve, design sensibility and technical excellence of Japanese art at its best is present in these beautiful garments. Our taste is for vivid, often asymmetrical and bold patterns in Meisen Silk Ikats or for especially interesting and unusual cotton combinations. Prices and further information available by request.
We currently have more Yukata in-stock. Please inquire for additional photos and pricing.
