Tokyo.

There are lots of pleasures here. But they are very different from Kyoto. Big city, museums, fancy new bookstores, lots of fashion, galleries, subways, restaurants. Everything is spread out yet into smaller neighborhoods. Many aesthetic surprises around every corner. There is no rational street system -- no names, no consecutive numbers. Everything is in pods, if a sort. Many things to buy everywhere: food, drink, clothes, books, drugs and cosmetics, toys, ceramics.
