Packing for 2 Weeks in Japan
Three Asiatica "pocket tunics." Each with deep pockets in a coolish fabric and relatively wrinkle free.
My 25 year-old Issey Miyake black cotton jersey dress.
Four pair of American Apparel cotton leggings. Black ones in two lengths.
One pair of lightweight Asiatica pants in black Nuno embroidered rayon and a pair of lightweight Eileen Fisher pants with matching t-shirt. Plus one EF dark blue T-shirt. (Her pants have no pockets).
Two cotton shawls which I will probably never wear. Too hot there.
Two pair of shoes which are walk worthy, weather worthy and relatively easy to take off at temples etc.
Bath utility bag. Baby powder for heat abrasion, nail kit, hair prep etc.
Forgot medical kit above.
Below, all tools for trying to tame hair in humid weather.
Japanese mini washclothes. Invaluable if you carry one damp in a plastc bag and one dry at all times.
Lots of money!
Something to read and discard as you go.
Extra suitcase packed in the one with wheels.
The office. New color samples for Nuno fabrics, last years itinerary and purchases, Tokyo and Kyoto files, and a pad of narrow-lined paper along with a new Rhodia notebook.
Lastly, my I-phone with which to take pictures, call wherever (40.$ surcharge fir 100 minutes), keep addresses, check e-mail etc. I promise not to lose it!!!!!
